How wonderful it would be if mayhem never occurred in your business. No software glitches, no lost documents, no miscommunication. But the reality is, mayhem does exist and there are easy ways to slow it down and remove it when it does.
First things first, we need to look mayhem right in the eye. The moment mayhem occurs acknowledge it.
Say it to yourself or out loud: I’ve got this.
That’s actually the hardest part. I know a few egos out there like to point fingers or walk away entirely. But you’re the boss, right? Own it and let’s move on.
Next, remove the mayhem right now. You can go back with other solutions, but be in the now. Fix it. Remove it and breathe.
Once you have mayhem at bay, remove yourself from the situation. That’s right, take a walk and clear your mind. Just take a break from the chaos, mayhem’s residue.
Once you're feeling refreshed, take a small amount of time to look back and see what could be improved. Could someone else handle this mayhem in the future? Are there protocols in place if it happens again?
Find solutions now to avoid repeat mayhem. Set time aside and write down any potential mayhem that might occur and how it will be handled. Though mayhem is known for its unpredictability, you can use these ways to reduce and remove mayhem in your business.
Now it’s your turn. Share below any mayhem that has come into your business recently and what solutions worked best for you.
