What is the Security Breach Expense Reimbursement Endorsement?

The Security Breach Expense Reimbursement Endorsement (“SBER”) provides valuable financial support in the event of a data security issue. This endorsement is intended to reimburse you for costs related to:

• Complying with state or local notification laws;
• Services performed by a public relations, crisis management, or law firm to minimize potential harm to your business, including the cost of placing advertisements or press releases relating to the breach; and
• Hiring consultants, including forensic cyber analysts, to determine whether a security breach occurred and the extent of such breach. This means that the cost to investigate IF there was a breach would also be reimbursed.
